Hi there, I'm Lukas
A project manager, a parent, and an expat residing in Berlin, Germany.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Germany wasn't part of our long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new processes, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Bright Valley Map
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Germany.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Real-world insight from living in Germany
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- A resource from a tourism authority
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Germany continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
Lukas
